The performing members of the quintetKappa Kappa Psi is a Co-educational Service Fraternity for Pitt Band members. The brass quintet was founded by the horn player a few years ago. The members of the Kappa Kappa Psi Brass Quintet not only spend hours rehearsing and practicing for Pitt Band but for their own shows on top of school work and other obligations, which is pretty impressive!

All the members playing a song.On this particular day, one of the normal members was ill, so the trombonist from another local brass quintet, The Shadyside Brass, filled in! They also invited a drummer to perform with them during some of their songs.

The drummer, man!The songs ranged from an Armed Forces Salute to Disney’s Beauty and the Beast and included something for everybody. Some of the songs were the traditional arrangements and some were arranged by the founder of the quintet himself.

The setup in Heinz ChapelIf you ever get a chance, I strongly encourage everyone to take a couple hours some day to watch a live performance- you won’t be disappointed!
